Event Details:

11am-4pm
NC State Fairgrounds, Gov Martin Building
The Carolina Stories & Summer Reading Festival was created as a space where stories, creativity, and community can come together. We believe local voices matter, creativity deserves room to grow, and meaningful connection often begins through the stories we share. Whether you come to discover a new author, explore handmade art, listen to spoken word, or simply spend the day surrounded by creativity, we hope Carolina Stories feels welcoming, inspiring, and deeply human. At its heart, this festival is a celebration of expression, imagination, and the people courageous enough to create.
What To Expect
Visitors can expect a relaxed, creative atmosphere filled with local authors, storytellers, artists, and community creators sharing their work throughout the day. The festival will feature books, handmade goods, spoken word and creative performances, opportunities to meet independent authors, and spaces designed to encourage conversation, discovery, and connection. Families, readers, aspiring writers, and curious creatives are all welcome as we celebrate storytelling in its many forms and create a space where creativity feels approachable, inspiring, and shared.
